Businesses and practitioners which provide “holistic” services are required to be licensed. Holistic service includes holistic manual therapy, reiki, aromatherapy, or massage for therapeutic reasons.
In Toronto, Holistic Practitioners are required to obtain a licence. Holistic Practitioners are individuals who work in a holistic centre which may provide a variety of services for medical or treatment. Holistic practitioners are licensed or registered to do so under the laws of the Province of Ontario.
Our association is recognized by the City of Toronto for licensing purposes, the active year 2007. To be eligible for licensing, you must be a current member of our association and in good standing.
A holistic licence is required for practitioners providing the holistic services. “Holistic services” refer to any modality (such as osteopathic manual therapy, aromatherapy, herbalism, acupressure and reflexology) used as a tool for therapeutic and wellness purposes.
A holistic centre licence is required for owners of any premises providing holistic services. “Holistic services” refer to any modality used as a tool for therapeutic and wellness purposes.
If you want to own a holistic centre to provide holistic services, you are required to hold a Holistic Practitioner Licence and then qualified to apply for your Holistic Centre Licence.

HOW TO APPLY?
[spacer height=”10px”]Applicants must apply in person at the Licence & Permit Issuing Office. Sign up at the front desk, let them know you are applying for the Holistic Practitioner License or the Holistic Center License, and wait for the call. After submitting the application documents listed below, which including your work permit, membership certificate and a letter from our association, take a picture and get your license. According to the number of people waiting in line at the time, the whole process usually takes about one hour. The office will close by 4 PM on weekdays, so we encourage members to prepare their time earlier.CHECKLIST OF LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Criminal reference check
- Apply in person and have a photo taken
- Our membership certificate and a confirmation letter are needed to verify your status as a current member – when applying and renewing your holistic license. Please ask us to prepare those before you submit your application
- Pay your application fee of $302.82 for the initial registration and $188.53 for the annual renewal fee.

- Apply in person and have a photo taken
